Having ideas and actively trying to put said ideas into a coherent form is hard and then knowing when to stop and take a breather so your frustration doesn’t become bitter annoyance with yourself is even harder

To whoever it might concern (and to catch the possible rumor mill before it even has a chance to get started), I’ve decided to leave to leave Kor’kron Legion as an officer and with my character Vaknosh.
There wasn’t any kind of drama, no bad feelings, or anything that should otherwise speak ill of the guild or its leaders or members. And no I’m not quitting the game or leaving Moon Guard, nor have I lost my desire for roleplaying or playing on the Horde. You’re all stuck with me.
I did this because I wanted to and felt it would be best for me. Because I felt like I was the one stagnating and not the guild. I had simply lost my passion for the guild’s concept and felt maybe it was time for me to stop holding on to the past, try something new. To be honest, I’ve done very little for the guild of late anyway, especially with my officer duties, and that is unfair to those like Suota, Drakk, Splintze, and Dabb who do put in really hard work into the guild while I sorta rested on the laurels of my past.
I will always love and adore my little creation that is the Kor’kron Legion, nor am I completely done with it. I’ll put an alt in eventually, of that I have no doubt. But my leader days are done there, I feel, and I think that’s okay. It means it’s grown beyond me – and the past has shown that can mean really great things for KKL.
I have a few ideas of what I might want to try or do going forward, some ideas I like and might play with. Never a dull moment.

I’m not saying the Geara Doga is the superior looking version of the Zaku (but it is).
Also I finally finished my Master Grade Geara Doga so that’s neat.
All I know is that back in Cata, some crybaby PvPer got pissed off that a RPer from KKL beat them in a PvP duel and thus our guild name got reported by them because they were a pissbaby.
And then without so much as a consideration or conversation otherwise, the guild name was immediately turned into Ruvok’s Guild, which I had to spend roughly a week or so I believe getting turned back into the Kor’kron Legion. But only after basically forcing Blizz to go check the logs of what the PvPer was saying/threatening to the guild member and how the name report was effectively petty harassment, and how we were not representing ourselves as the actual canon Kor’kron Guard and never have.
I’m not convinced it’s ever been improved nor am I convinced the CS knows how to do much of anything that isn’t on their scripts. Shit, it’s more automated than ever if anything, given how multiboxers mass reporting people get them silenced or forcefully temp banned.
Observations about my students after using the old Apple II Oregon Trail game for the first time to help teach about the Oregon Trail (and just have some fun):
- They have a pretty good understanding of why different months are bad to leave in. They compromised on leaving in May.
- One student was really upset we spent all our money at the beginning. When we later weren’t able to buy a ferry crossing and lost a lot of stuff while fording, he smugly proclaimed, “I TOLD YOU SO”
- They love fording the river after it went wrong the first time and every river afterwards was forded. They were so happy when it went horribly wrong.
- They are savage as fuck. As soon as someone got sick, they all wanted to sacrifice the person for various reasons.
- A snakebite caused someone to ask incredulously, “Who is playing with snakes?!”
- When the first person died and they went wild.
- I had absolutely 0 trouble getting readers to read the text for once. Most put on quite a show with various “settler” accents.
- The more things went wrong, the better they found the game.
- “Why would anyone ever do this trip?” was one question that got asked that I was more than happy to debate with them about the merits of the trail. People were definitely forming their own opinions, which was great.
- I am terrible at hunting in the game and they will happily let me know that.
- 8-bit music is incredibly divisive, with some loving it and others hating it.
- I feel bad for the English teachers after the game, cuz they were hyped as fuck after.
- Some were saying they were going to play with the siblings or parents later, which was great to hear.
While the Orc Male Warrior bingo is hilarious, it also bums me out how popular it is too – since it likely means so many people have run into so many bad orc roleplayers in their time RPing in WoW.
I sincerely hope no one has had such an incredibly bad experience with a member of the Kor’kron Legion, be it in the distant past or recently. And if you had a bad experience with us, then I would like to personally apologize. The guild has always attempted to just be a fun and inclusive place that is free of jerks.
