so I’m playing ESO Summerset and doing this real neat and clever quest where this lady is liked “my twin bro gave up the chance to train with amazing mages to join an acting troupe. this is the worst decision he ever made on top of ditching me. please help me find him because all the actors wear masks.”
so i go through the motions and find a dancer who has a scar like the lady mentioned and he said he used to be a mage. but the troupe leader convinces me that I should think about the brother and what he wants and we put a stop to the sister’s plan to unmask the actor to get him kicked out.
sister pisses off and is going to be thrown out of town. So i go to the troupe leader and she confesses that SHE’S the twin! Now she had said briefly that I should be careful in picking whom I thought was the bro because some people hide their gender on top of hiding their faces, so it’s not quite 100% out of the blue.
I convince her to talk with her sis and she reveals herself to be her twin and apologizes for lying, but she just didn’t want to be something she wasn’t anymore–mainly a mage.
AND THEN the troupe leader/twin says to me “hey, if you want to ever stop bythe troupe house, I’d love to chat more” and that is after the quest. it’s pretty rare for there to be stuff to do/learn after the quest, but with Morrowind, there have been a few things. So I go and find her because I have aa feeling I know what it’s about. anyone who doesn’t quite catch what the quest is REALLY about might not think much and just think “ya she probs just will say ‘hey thanks for helping me out” because that how most of these quests go. NPCs give you like 3 lines about what they’re up to know and then just rinse and repeat.
but I went and it got a whole lot better. This convo was clearly meant for people who knew what the end of the quest was really about.
Not only does she admit that she was uncomfortable living as a man so she transitioned she also explains that there are plenty of trans folk across tamriel and some go about their self learned identity in different ways.
this is why I fuck with Bethesda and Todd Howard. they have always been including like real people and real stories into their games. they’ve always allowed you to gay marry anyone, they’ve tossed in gays here and there, and finally they gave us a transwoman. Other games are just weak and they are cowards
