god can marvel comics, for a single moment, just NOT

if the character of anthony edward stark is in any shape or form used in this northrop grumman promo comic i will personally punch a hole through the universe.

no for actual real though. tony’s in that promo cover and i’ve put up with a lot over the years but i will not put up with iron man and the avengers being used to prop up the military-industrial complex. oh my god. no.

oh hell no.

@marvelentertainment remember when the currently most well-known version of Tony Stark had a whole origin story about breaking his company AWAY from flagrant war profiteering? Remember when that was the point? You may be confusing your heroes with their villainous counterparts such as Justin Hammer/Hammer Industries and all, aka the obvious stand-ins for the Northrop Grummans of the world, which are not only defeated but ridiculed all the way through the cinematic franchise that’s the entire reason why the image of Stark Industries/Tony Stark, if not all on-screen Avengers themselves, became actual household names across the world.

I’m bringing up the movies because they’re all you might have heard about at this point, since all of you have so obviously forgotten every single thing about your own comics history, your chief creators, and every single thing that Marvel Comics was supposed to stand for.

the plot thickens my friends

I would ask if they don’t remember their own plot lines or origin stories, but considering Captain America was a Nazi for months, I’m not surprised. The promo ALL-AGES WAR PROFITEERING comic has also been pulled from their website.

As far as I can tell, there’s been no official word from Marvel about cancelling the partnership, just the event.

Dollars to donuts it’s because Northrop Grumman realized it was turning into a PR disaster, not Marvel.

I was wondering if the Comics arm went ahead with this without checking with Daddy Disney first. Marvel comics does advertising tie-ins pretty frequently (they’ve done M&Ms and various NFP campaigns in the past) so my thought was that they didn’t think to check this with the parent company, and Disney went “You associated our Family Entertainment Themed Branding with WHAT.”

Again, a reminder that the current Marvel CEO is a huge Trump donator
